I have a 14x14 building built that is fully roofed.

So i have 15x15 interior rooms on either side of a 3x15 walkway that i use for my killbox in my mountain base.
The 15x15 rooms where i plan to plce my turrets keep caving in in the middle.
You ll need to build a few supports when you start replacing walls to prevent roof collapses or cave ins.

Enclosed areas will automatically prompt colonists to build a roof unless you apply a no roof region or if the structure is too large over 300 cells.
And some did appear there but also others appeared further out into the base which was under a roof i had built between my structures.
I was under the impression that you could make 16x16 rooms under a mountain without it collapsing and i have two 17x17 rooms with one support elsewhere in the base that have never collapsed on me.
Structures leave ash on the ground when burnt.

Colonists can build structures of a various materials each with different beauty flammability and hit points.
A roof collapses if there s no support rock wall within 6 squares of the tile.
This means that the largest square room you can have is 10x10 internal.
If you removed 2 entire walls and the corner between those two sides last then that roof was too far away from any other supports.
Although i always remember it that way that means the maximum distance between a roofed square and a wall is 6.
